Platinum Electrical Contractors has chosen Destiny Wireless’s Digital Pen and Paper (DP&P) technology using Anoto functionality for the transmission of service reports completed in the field by Service Technicians back to their Head Quarters at Blacktown, NSW. Digital Pen and Paper will be used to complete paper based field service reports and with one tick of a box the entire report will be transmitted back to Service HQ in real time!
The Digital Pen, using Anoto® Functionality, functions like any normal pen but enables the user to send, by email, anything they write or draw. The Digital Pen houses a sophisticated array of technology developed by Anoto® in Sweden that includes; an infrared camera, an image processor and a wireless Bluetooth™ transceiver. These components work together with the Anoto® pattern, a series of nearly invisible dots printed on ordinary paper or forms.
Recently, Platinum Electrical Contractors was crowned the NSW Panasonic Business Award winner at the 2007 Telstra Business Awards. The business awards program acknowledged the innovative integration of the Destiny pen into Platinum’s day to day operations.
Platinum Electrical Contractors had investigated a range of solutions including; PDA’s and Lap Tops, but found that DP&P, using Anoto functionality, had numerous advantages including; 100% data accuracy, real-time data delivery to multiple outlets, increased data availability, cleaner and faster communication channels, which all have a profound positive affects on both monetary and time costs and result in a highly efficient workforce.
Once the service report arrives back at Platinum Electrical Contractors office it is viewed, processed and automatically integrated into Platinum Electrical Contractor’s service management software in matters of minutes.
